Edinburgh International Science Festival

Street Science

Catch our Street Science at St Andrew Square from 4-6 September as part of START.

Our Street Science team have spent the summer out and about entertaining crowds across Edinburgh. We have three tricycles of tricks and each carries a box full to the brim with impressive, explosive, messy, and down-right weird science experiments. From the dangers of flatulent cows, to finding out how carbon capture could save the planet, each demo will explain some of the most interesting science happening in Scotland today.

This project has been supported by a Scottish Government Science Engagement Grant.

Science Festival will be back from 9-22 April 2011

Our 2010 Festival was one of our most successful to date. More visitors than ever came along and were entertained and enlightened by our celebration of science and technology. Highlights this year included new activities at City Art Centre, Spirit of the Wild in St Andrew Square, BBC One's Bang Goes The Theory Roadshow and three sold out appearances by the physicist and TV Presenter Professor Brian Cox.
