Fundraising Manager (Maternity Cover, fixed term contract until mid-April 2013)
Salary £30,000 - £32,000
Edinburgh International Science Festival is looking to recruit an extraordinary Fundraising Manager to head up our small team. You must have proved your ability to develop a fundraising strategy and successfully deliver income against challenging targets. You need to be able to think creatively about matching funding to programming. You will be passionate about the aims of the organisation and should be aware of the current educational, scientific and technological issues that we address. If you enjoy a challenge and thrive in a fast moving environment we would like to hear from you.

Science Events Developer
Salary £22,000-24,000 depending on experience
Edinburgh International Science Festival is seeking an experienced events developer. This person will have a good practical understanding of the techniques of public engagement with science and be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently. In this role they will research and then develop new popular science events aimed at school children and the general public in the area of the life sciences. These events will tour schools and be part of science festivals.
We require candidates with a good life sciences degree and a further qualification in science communication or similar.

Festival Staff – Science Communicators
We are looking for engaging, outgoing people who are excellent communicators and who enjoy working with families and children aged 3-12 years to become our Science Communicators for the Festival 2012. You will be involved with running practica, fun and hands-on workshops at our family venues such as the City Art Centre and National Museum of Scotland. Or you might get involved in taking science to the city, bringing to life our exciting exhibition in Ocean Terminal or even on our science busking bikes! l A knowledge and interest in science subjects, engineering, technology, dance, sports science or drama would be useful but not a requirement. Passion is the key and an ability to work hard and retain your sense of humour is essential!
Hourly Rate: £6.71

Festival Staff – Front of House Team
Our Front of House staff members are responsible for providing Front of House assistance at different events across the city. Working at one of our various venues will involve a great deal of interaction with our customers attending family or adult events who have a wide range of requests and needs. We are looking for friendly, organised and reliable staff with excellent customer service skills.

Festival Staff – Front of House Supervisors
We are looking for effective individuals with the ability to confidently supervise front of house teams and provide support to Event Managers within Edinburgh Science Festival Venues. These teams will vary in size and may be comprised of both paid front of house personnel and voluntary support. Previous experience in a front of house position is extremely desirable.

Festival Staff – Event Managers
Event Managers will be responsible for the smooth running of all Edinburgh International Science Festival Events taking place within their allocated venue. We are looking for efficient and organised individuals who are able to work effectively and confidently unsupervised. Excellent customer service skills and some technical knowledge of event/venue management are essential requirements for the post. Some technical experience with AV equipment or technicians would be advantageous.
