Did you know?... Penguins are able to drink salt water because they have a gland in their nasal passages called the supraorbital gland.

This gland filters any excess salt in the water out through a capillary above the penguin's eyes.

The unwanted salt is then expelled through the nasal cavity as a very salty, brine-like substance.
