Careers Hive 2017 is open for booking
Booking is now open for schools groups for Careers Hive 2017, which will run from 26 February to 3 March at the National Museum of Scotland.
Created and delivered by Edinburgh International Science Festival, this immersive careers education event for students in S1-S3 is designed to be motivational and uplifting. It offers students a new way to think about their futures by highlighting the opportunities available to those who study STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) as well as the cross-disciplinary skills and subjects that can support and enhance STEM careers.
On a visit to Careers Hive, students are led through a curated visit featuring three separate activities – an interactive exhibition, hands-on group workshop and programme of short talks by inspirational speakers. These activities are designed to get students thinking about the challenges humanity faces in the future and how their individual choices over the next few years will help them get involved in solving those challenges.
By giving students the chance to meet professionals working in STEM fields and explore their own skills and abilities, Careers Hive ensures that participants leave with a greater awareness of the world of education, work and training, to help them make informed choices about their future.
This is the second run for the project. Earlier this year the first instalment attracted over 1,800 students from 28 schools.
