We can advise on specific areas of the programme, photographs, filming or recording or help to arrange interviews with visiting scientists, science communicators or the Science Festival team.
When will the 2012 Programme be announced?
The programme for the 2012 Edinburgh International Science Festival will be available in February.
How do I get a Press Pass?
All journalists must pre-register to qualify for press accreditation – please email media@scifest.co.uk with your name, email address, mobile telephone number, publication and position and we will issue you with a press pass. Please note that the press pass allows entry to the main Science Festival venues – The City Arts Centre, Botanic Gardens, National Museums of Scotland, Our Dynamic Earth and Edinburgh Zoo - however does not permit entry into any ticketed events.
How do I get tickets to events?
Once you receive your accreditation confirmation, you will be sent a ticket request form – please complete this and return to us, and we will allocate one ticket per publication per event.
How do I get photographs of events?
We have a library of high resolution Science Festival images – please contact us for details. A limited selection of high resolution images are available for download from the website under Press Images.
Photographers for the 2012 Science Festival are welcome – but must arrange passes with the press office on media@scifest.co.uk or 07841 579481.
Photocalls for specific events will be arranged daily, and an email invitation sent out to all photographers the previous day. If you wish to be added to this email list, please contact media@scifest.co.uk with your contact details.
How do I arrange interviews with scientists and participants?
All requests to interview scientists, participants and staff at the 2012 Edinburgh International Science Festival should be directed through the press office. Please contact us on media@scifest.co.uk and we will do everything we can to facilitate your request.
Can I film or record events?
This may be possible for some events, with the permission of the participants. Please contact media@scifest.co.uk and we will do everything we can to facilitate your request.
