Welcome to Energy and Environment

This pod at Careers Hive delved into questions about the environment, where we are getting our energy from and how we can help with STEM.

A powerful problem
As energy demand increases and reserves go down, how do we make sure that we can keep the lights on? We need to find the right mix of energy sources. Career focus: Generating, distributing and selling power requires inputs from a variety of people – could you be part of the energy sector?

Spreading energy
One of the energy industry’s biggest challenges is getting power to everyone when it’s needed most. To do this we need to find ways to keep energy until it’s needed. Career focus: Could you work on smarter ways to distribute energy?

With great power comes great responsibility
One of our biggest challenges is balancing energy news with the state of our planet. Will technology help us become clean and green? Career focus: The development of renewables has given rise to a raft of new opportunities and roles.

There is no planet B
Climate change is one of our planets's biggest threats. The best way to combat climate change is to have policies that target carbon dioxide emissions and more. What kind of jobs can help defend our planet?
