Dementia Prevention – Micro-Module

About the event

The University of Edinburgh works in partnership to connect science and society to make the world a better place.
Our Festival Programming Partners – The University of Edinburgh – are providing access to digital learning materials as part of Elements of #EdSciFest.

In this Micro-Module, developed by The Centre for Dementia Prevention and the Centre for Open Learning at The University of Edinburgh, you’ll get the opportunity to find out more about the neurodegenerative diseases that cause dementia. The module is split into different sections which you can dip in and out of at your own pace.

In the course you’ll explore:

  • An introduction to the biology of neurogenerative disease

  • How research studies investigate these diseases

  • How we can use the power of data to predict dementia risk

  • The methods we can adopt on a global scale to empower individuals to improve brain health and prevent the onset of dementia
