Careers Hive is an immersive careers education event designed to give students in S1-S3 a new way to think about their futures. It highlights the opportunities available to those who study STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths), as well as the cross-disciplinary skills and subjects that can support and enhance STEM careers. Careers Hive 2020 will run from 24–29 February at the National Museum of Scotland.
Edinburgh Science works closely with community partners within Edinburgh to develop their science communication skills and deliver bespoke workshops and activities for various age groups.
Skills and Training
We have developed a portfolio of training courses designed to equip science communicators, and those who support them, with the skills to excel in their roles. These include Communicating with Confidence training and our currently-in-development Science Engagement Skills Accelerator Programme.
Teacher Support and Resources
Edinburgh Science Learning has a range of resources and support for teachers. This includes the Edinburgh Science Festival Delegate Programme, discounted Festival tickets and notes and activites from Generation Science shows.

Live For It!
We worked in partnership with Diabetes Scotland to deliver Live For It!, a health education programme for P7-S2 pupils, designed to help tackle childhood obesity and highlight the possible risks of developing Type 2 diabetes in later life from 2011-2015.
In 2015 we were also out on tour with Fuselab Go. In this innovation and creativity ‘boot camp’ 15-18 year olds are challenged to come up with innovations to aid the development of a sustainable way of life on a new planet over two days of intensive workshops, presentations and activities.
