Special Projects

In addition to delivering Edinburgh’s annual Science Festival and a variety of education programmes in Scotland, we regularly take on additional special projects across the UK and internationally.

When working on these projects, we bring extensive expertise in creating and delivering interactive and entertaining educational experiences and provide content that is engaging and inspirational. We can also support partners with programme curation and event logistics and production, as well as providing Science Communication and event specific training for local staff.

Further information on some of the projects we have worked on is listed below – click on the titles at the left to find out more about each project.

Code Crackers, Qatar

In November 2015, we sent a team over to deliver a workshop at the Qatar World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE). Our team engaged local children with our hands-on Code Crackers workshop, inviting them into a ‘cyber bunker’ and challenging them to crack codes, crunch data and discover how security agencies protect us from crime as they completed a code-breaking mission.

The event was also a great opportunity to showcase our pioneering approach to science engagement to the 1,500 delegates who attended over three days. We even received a visit from America’s former First Lady, Michelle Obama, who worked with children during the workshop and spent time with the team and participants as part of a visit to the region.
