Special Projects

In addition to delivering Edinburgh’s annual Science Festival and a variety of education programmes in Scotland, we regularly take on additional special projects across the UK and internationally.

When working on these projects, we bring extensive expertise in creating and delivering interactive and entertaining educational experiences and provide content that is engaging and inspirational. We can also support partners with programme curation and event logistics and production, as well as providing Science Communication and event specific training for local staff.

Further information on some of the projects we have worked on is listed below – click on the titles at the left to find out more about each project.

Passion for Paralympics, UK

In 2012 a team from Edinburgh International Science Festival project managed the UK tour of Ottobock’s Passion for Paralympics exhibition, which raised awareness of Paralympic sport and athletes heading into the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The exhibition visited Glasgow and Manchester before taking up residence at Olympic Park during the Games. It subsequently toured to Rio de Janeiro, home of the 2016 Paralympic Games.

We developed a series of interactive activities to complement the existing exhibition and recruited and trained a team to deliver them for the exhibition’s UK tour. We also provided event management support for the Rio tour and created a suite of training materials to allow Ottobock to deliver the activities at future events.
