Surgeons' Hall Museums

The Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh houses one of the largest and most historic collections of surgical pathology material in the United Kingdom. Developed as a teaching museum for students of medicine it has also been open to the general public since 1832 making it Scotland's oldest museum.

Access infomation:
The venue has step-free access and lifts to all floors. Disabled toilet facilities are available in the basement of the Museums. The venue has low counters to ease access for disabled people. Assistance dogs are welcome. 

Surgeons' Hall Museums is located in the heart of Edinburgh and only ten minutes away from Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle. You can travel to Surgeon's Hall Museums on the following Lothian Buses services: 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, 30, 31, 33, 37, 41, 42, 47, 49, 67.

Many of our venues in and around the city centre are easily accessible on foot and by public transport so please consider the environment when planning your travel to and from our events.
